Leche Flan
August 26, 2009As a Kapampangan its always a must that you know how to cook… I dont know where people got that idea because I am not a really good cook to start with. Anyway my friend reggie is so she shared her recipe with me … I havent tried it but alot of people did so I am taking their word for it… they say its really yummy.
ingredients for syrup/caramel
half cup sugar
1/4 cup water
procedure:
-combine sugar and water.
-boil down to low heat until caramelize.
-while still not, distribute the syrup to aluminum moulds.
-set aside while preparing for the milk and egg mixture.
Flan ingredients:
10-12 eggyolks
2 cans condensed milk
1 big can evap milk
half cup of sugar
vanilla or dayap rind (optional)
procedure”
-beat eggyoks, add pinch of salt and mix it well.
-add all the remaining ingredients. mix very well.
-gently pour over aluminum moulds with the use of a sifter/strainer for a smoother consistency.
-cover the moulds with aluminum foil and steam for 20-30 mins. you can tell when it’s cooked by inserting a knife-when it comes clean, then it’s done.
-Let it cool and refrigerate.
-serve by turning it upside down on a platter to position the golden caramel on top.

What’s the name of the CUTE squirrel from Ice Age?

Scrat is a “saber-toothed squirrel” (a fictional species) that appears in the Ice Age film series, starting with the 2002 film Ice Age and its sequels Ice Age: The Meltdown and Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs. He is best known for being obsessed with acorns, constantly putting his life in danger to obtain and protect them. He usually has his own stories in the film, independent of the main plot, which are parallel with the journeys of the other main characters simply by chance, making the other characters meet him occasionaly, although they never seem to remember him.
To me he kinda looks like my pet dog (Eskimo/Pomeratian cross) he has huge googly eyes when he is asking for treats or if he wants some of what you are having…
His character has proved enormously successful and many view him as a breakout character, the most popular character of the franchise. In a special feature in the second film’s DVD, his name has been stated to be a mix of the words “squirrel” and “rat“, his species being believed by fictional scientists to have been a common ancestor of the two.
In all Ice Age movies, as well as in the short films, Scrat is voiced by Chris Wedge.
a baby story

“They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?”
God answered him “Among the many angels, I chose two for you. They will be waiting for you and will take care of you.”
“But tell me,” asked the child, “here in Heaven, I don’t do anything else but sing and smile, that’s enough for me to be happy.”
“Your angels will sing for you and will also smile for you every day. And you will feel your angel’s love and be happy.” God reassured him.
“And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me, if I don’t know the language that men talk?”
“Your angels will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angels will teach you how to speak.”
“And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you, Lord?”
“Your angels will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray.”
“I’ve heard that on earth there are bad men. Who will protect me?”Your angels will defend you even if it means risking their lives

I was never as outgoing as you are or as energetic as you do when it comes to parties or any gatherings. I may not be as sweet as you are or as thoughtful as you always do but that doesn’t make you feel less of me. You didn’t allow these things to outlist me as one of your so called “dear friends”.
You always understand me when I seem to be mysterious to you. You understood me when i sometimes kept secrets on you or delaying truths during my confusions. You respected my silence also my absence. You didn’t mind our differences as individuals and you were delighted of our similarities as well. You showed me your true color as i do and you never judge me from being me.
You were there when i laugh, you were there when i cried. You never take my weaknesses against me. You didn’t even think that I am weak anyway. You console me on my loneliness. You symphatize on me during my emotionally low days. Maybe you were hearing bad things about me from another person but you never listened to them actually. You know me more than they do.
There were times that we had misunderstandings but that didn’t break our friendship. It made our friendship stronger instead. Friendship that I am thankful for to God.
We may not see each other that much now or we can’t even get in touch that often but I believe that in my heart, I have a friend in you. Something that i treasure a lot.
To all the persons that I consider as my “real friends”, I know I have a few but they’re the best!!!
To all of you, this is my humble way of saying “thank you” for accepting me in your heart and allowing me to come to your life.
